Clubs Ladies auxiliary installs officers
The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Clay Post #3061 was held Tuesday evening May 17 with Senior Vice President Delores Gregg presiding. Roll call of officers was taken and recorded. Chaplain Opal Smith offered the opening prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report was accepted as printed. Correspondence included reading thank you notes. Committee reports were on membership, hospital equipment on loan, Hospice, sympathy, birthday and get well cards mailed. Plans were made to place and remove the flags on our Auxiliary sisters graves at the cemetery on Memorial Day weekend. Installing officer Opal Smith installed the officers for the ensuing year: President Delores Gregg, Senior Vice President Donna Schafer, Junior Vice President Dorothy Lane, Secretary Barbara Kronaizl, Treasurer Marlene Amundsen, Chaplain Opal Smith, Conductress Marjorie Christensen, Guard Erna Carlson, Trustee � 3 year Bonnie Albers, Patriotic Instructor Mary Bottolfson, Color Bearers #1 Doris Olson, #2 Erna Carlson, #3 Bernice Ticknor, #4 Judy Kronaizl, Banner Bearer Roxann Brown, Flag Bearer Sherry How, Musician Agnes Sealey, Historian Harriet Randall, Assistant Guard Connie Taggart. There being no further business the meeting adjourned to reopen on June 21.
Legion auxiliary elects officers
The American Legion auxiliary met May 10 at the Senior Citizen Center Helen Manley was hostess. We elected officers which will start in September: President Marilyn Gors, Vice President Erna Carlson, Secretary Evelyn Hermanson, Treasurer Marjorie Christensen and Chaplain Pam Hofman. Our next meeting will be June 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Senior Center with Girls Staters and Boys Staters as our guests. Members of the American Legion Auxiliary sold poppies at Hy-Vee on May 26. We wear these poppies to honor all of our veterans.
