Dessert contest is a tasty success

Dessert contest is a tasty success The rhubarb dessert contest at the W.H. Over Museum which was held on Saturday afternoon, May 21, was a great success. Submitted for the contest were 29 entries in five different categories from pies, cakes, muffins and breads to jams and rhubarb sauce. Nancy McCahren took top prize winning both the pie and the bread categories. Other winners were Ken Wurtz, Maureen Goddard, and Maxine Johnson.

"We hope to repeat this event next year," said Barbara Gauger, chair of the event, "so that those who didn't enter this year will have a chance to try."

The next event at the W.H. Over Museum will be held on Saturday June 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be a rummage and bake sale and will be held on the museum dock. Anyone is welcome to come and check out the merchandise and delightful baked goods being offered for sale by members.

Anyone having something they want to give for the sale, please bring it Friday, June 17 or call the museum, 677-5228 for assistance.
