Stockland is awarded foundation scholarship Jeanie Stockland has been awarded the 2005 Wakonda Community Health Foundation scholarship.
Stockland has met the GPA criteria and has plans to pursue a career in the health care field.
She plans to attend Black Hills State University in Spearfish this fall. She will be majoring in biology with plans to go to medical school.
Her participation in extracurricular activities, as well as community involvement, have been many and varied. Naming some, but not all would include: one-act and all-school plays, oral interpretation, all-school musical, student council, class offices, chorus, band, bookkeeper for both boys' and girls' basketball and volleyball, Teens in Action, FCCLA, First Responders (2 1/2 years), 4-H, church youth group, peer helpers, YBA in 2004, Youth Leadership Award 2003, and Girls State in 2004.
Stockland is the daughter of Frank and Robin Stockland of rural Volin. She graduated from Wakonda High School on May 15.
The board of directors for the Foundation extends its congratulations to this young lady on all her achievements and wish her the best in her career in the health care field.
