Teeners open season with wins The Vermillion 13-14 teener team opened its season at Prentis Park Monday night with a double header against Canton. In game one Vermillion tallied three runs each in the first, second, and fourth innings along with two in the third for a total of 11 runs in four at bats. Vermillion allowed only one Canton run in the first. Good defense and timely hits provided Vermillion with a 11-1 win.

In game two Vermillion jumped to an early lead scoring four of their five runs in the first inning. Canton's lone run came in the sixth inning. The final: Vermillion 5 Canton 1. As in game one, good defense behind a good pitching effort allowed only two runs in a total of twelve innings of play.

Vermillion will be in action again on Saturday against Alcester-Hudson at Prentis Park, 6:30 p.m. Below is the 2005 teener schedule:
