Theatre department launches BFA with music theatre specialization The University of South Dakota Department of Theatre has announced a new area of specialization within its bachelor of fine arts degree program.
Beginning in the fall of 2005, qualified students may choose to pursue the BFA in theatre with a musical theatre specialization.�This dynamic 130 credit hour program will draw upon the resources of both university theatre and the department of music for its curricular offerings which will feature instruction in acting, voice, music theory, and dance ��from jazz and tap to ballroom and ballet. The BFA musical theatre specialization will also provide students with performance opportunities in major musicals, musical revues and vocal ensembles.��
Musical theatre, which continues to be a very popular art form with the public, provides a wide range of employment opportunities for graduates who specialize in this field.
