Vermillion standout will attend USD on scholarship Lindsey Davies is at the top of her class at Vermillion High School and is planning to attend The University of South Dakota on scholarship. Davies was recently awarded one of USD's prestigious Presidential Alumni Scholarships which covers tuition and fees with four years of eligibility valued at $19,500. Davies was also named a Lynn, Jackson, Shultz and Lebrun Law Honors Scholar which gives her provisional admission to The University of South Dakota School of Law and $1,000 of scholarship money every year.
To be eligible for the Presidential Alumni Scholarship, a student must have a composite score of at least 27 on the ACT or 1220 on the SAT.
Davies chose to attend USD because it "was just a good fit for me," she said. "It's small enough that students receive personal attention and aren't just numbers, yet big enough to offer a variety of opportunities."
The daughter of Thomas and Karen Davies, she has a 4.0 GPA and is ranked first in her class. Davies is involved in band, German club, journalism (yearbook editor), YABA bowling, National Honor Society, Girls State Journalism City and is a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church.
