Girls U-14 Stingers have second doubleheader loss in a row by Jim Prosser The girls U-14 Vermillion Stingers softball team lost another double header on Wednesday, June 15.

They faced the Hartford Sparx in the first game. Jenny Bye was charged with seven runs (three unearned) on three hits and two walks, while registering nine Ks. The Stingers scored four runs to lose 7-4 against a very strong Sparx pitcher. Those scoring were: Brianna Brinkman, Chelsea Houska, Donica Crichton, and Chelsea Allen.

Their next opponent was the Brandon Explosion. Brinkman pitched the seven-inning game giving up seven runs on six hits, one BB. The team could muster only three runs in the fourth inning despite garnering five hits and four walks during the game. Houska was 1 for 3, scoring a run; Crichton went 1 for 4, 1 rbi; and Ashley Ouellette drove in a run and scored one with 1 for 3 at bats.
