Girls U-14 Stingers take 2 in Sioux Falls By Jim Prosser The U-14 Vermillion Stingers softball team improved their record by defeating Sioux Falls Untouchables 13-5; and Madison Flash 10-0, in a doubleheader at the Sherman Park softball complex in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, June 1.

Game one was against the Untouchables where Jenny Bye pitched a one-hit gem, marred only by four walks and a couple of errors, giving up five unearned runs, while registering 6 Ks in the six-inning stint.

Here is listing of the individual Stingers scoring: Brianna Brinkman � 2 runs on 1 for 4 batting, 1 rbi; Jenny Bye � 2 BBs for 2 runs; Anna Isaacson � 2 for 4, 1 run, 1 rbi; Britt Bye � 1 for 4, 1 run, 2 RBIs; Chelsea Houska � 2 for 4, 1 run, 1 rbi; Chelsea Allen � 3 runs, courtesy of 3 BBs; Megan Amundson � 1 for 4, 3 runs, 1 rbi.

The second game was a 4 1/2-inning no hitter for Brinkman as she shut out the Flash while registering seven Ks, and the Stingers prevailed 10-0.

Scoring for the Stingers: Jenny Bye � 1 for 3, 3 runs; Isaacson � 2 for 3, 2 runs; Britt Bye � 1 for 3, 1 run, 1 rbi; Houska � 1 run; Sara Kjose � 1 run; Chelsea Allen scored once on 1 for 3 hitting and 1 rbi.

Their record improves to 4-3 for the season.
