Midsommar at Dalesburg is scheduled June 24-26 The 136th annual Midsommar at Dalesburg Lutheran Church will kick off Friday, June 24.
Friday events include an afternoon program featuring Susan and Lise Enochsson and a youth lefse making factory at 2 p.m.
Children's entertainment will begin on the north lawn of the church at 5 p.m.
The Luther League will also be operating a food stand Friday from 1 to 10 p.m.
A highlight of Friday's activities will be the serving of a Scandinavian Smorgasbord from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-10. Tickets may be purchased in advance and at the door. Send checks payable to Dalesburg Midsommar, state number of tickets desired, and enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Friday evening's entertainment begins at 7 p.m. and includes the Stoneback Brass, Susan and Lise Enochsson and Everts Kvintett, the raising of the Midsommar Pole, Scandinavian ring dances and a Midsommar ball game.
A community worship service will be held at Dalesburg Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 26. The joint service will feature the congregations of Dalesburg Baptist Church, Dalesburg Lutheran and Komstad Covenant Church.
The Dalesburg Community Choir, under the direction of Julie Morren, will perform.
Dalesburg Lutheran Church is located 12 miles north of Vermillion on University Road, or 5 1/2 miles west of Exit 38 on Interstate 29. Outdoor programs are subject to change due to inclement weather. People are urged to bring lawn chairs and insect repellent.
