Redbird Teeners split DH with Alcester By Jim Prosser The Vermillion Teener baseball team split a double header with Alcester on Wednesday, June 1, in Alcester.
Game one was an up and down competition as Vermillion built a 5-4 lead after one inning. It was short lived when a wild streak at the plate, and a couple singles, gave the home team a six run second inning and a final 13-10 Alcester win.
The Redbirds employed three pitchers in the game � Jordan Robinson, Cole Andre and Ryan Husby. Robinson was charged with the loss.
Line scores: Alcester � 13 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 4 lob; Vermillion � 10 runs, 8 hits, 3 errors, 7 lob.

Game two was another high scoring affair with Vermillion building a 10-6 advantage after three innings and, while Alcester scored a bunch of runs in the middle innings, they never really threatened again.
Jackson Freidel was the winning pitcher going two innings and giving up five hits and six runs, walking four and registering five Ks. He was relieved by Cole Andre, followed by Paul Hammond, and ending with C.J. Haakinson.
Line scores: Vermillion � 18 runs, 14 hits, two errors, nine lob; Alcester � 13 runs, eight hits, one error, six lob.
Offensively: Hammond scored three runs on 2 for 3 batting, with two RBIs; Jerrod Freidel scored four times as he reached base on twp walks, a sac, and a fielders choice; Eric McPherson � 2 for 2, two runs, two RBIs; Nick Rasmussen reached base five times with singles, and scored two, driving in two; Haakinson went 1 for 3, one run, one RBI; Tyler Thedorff was 1 for 4, two runs, one RBI; Jackson Freidel � 2 for 2, two runs, one RBI; and Nelson � 1 for 2, two runs, one RBI.
