Student, staff recognized for leadership at USD The Student Activities Center is honoring outstanding student leadership at The University of South Dakota by sponsoring the Leadership Recognition Reception each spring at USD.
Kwaku Agyeman, originally from Ghana, Africa, received the Outstanding Diversity Leadership award. Agyeman currently resides in Vermillion and is a law student at USD.
This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated a commitment to the university that contributes to intercultural awareness and relationship building through leading, serving and reflecting the values of social justice, multiculturalism and diversity. Agyeman has made a lasting impact on The University of South Dakota through his accomplishments.
Kathy Jorgensen of USD's nursing department, received the Outstanding Advisor Award at the Leadership Recognition Reception.
This award is given to an advisor of a student organization who has excelled in all duties. Nominees attend events, motivate members and develop the leadership potential of members of the organization. Advisors who serve as mentors to student leaders and faithfully devote time to one-on-one meetings with organization members are considered for the award.
