United Way plans 2006 campaign The United Way of Vermillion Board of Directors is gearing up for the 2006 campaign year.

The goal will be to raise $85,000 to be allocated to 22 partner agencies.

The kick-off for the 2006 campaign will be at the "Taste of Vermillion," Sept. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Vermillion High School commons.

Last year the "Taste" was sampled by 500 Vermillion citizens and the United Way Board of Directors expect a larger crowd this year as well as contributions to the campaign goal.

The "Taste of Vermillion" is a great event for local restaurants and caterers to show case their specialties. The "Taste" will also have representatives from the 2006 partner agencies for the public to meet.

The United Way of Vermillion is about people helping people. When you give to the United Way of Vermillion you are investing in your community by making a positive impact for our citizens.

The 2006 Board of Directors includes: Jon Robertson, president, Cherry Street Grille; Mary Merrigan, vice-president, Sioux Valley Vermillion; Laura Hollingsworth, First Dakota National Bank; Lisa Ketcham, Vermillion Chamber of Commerce; Deb Christensen, Bank of The West; Gary Girard, USD; Paula Verzani, Wells Fargo; Pat Hubert, USD; Maryln Harnois, Senior Citizens Center; Chuck Schwartz, USD; Dan Kenton, Pamida; Phyllis Packard, City of Vermillion; Mark Froke, Vermillion Public Schools; Cathy Colwell, SESDAC.
