Vermillion Legion Post #1 opens with doubleheader By Jim Prosser After the rain-out of their home opener, Vermillion�s Legion Post #1 team traveled to Harrrisburg for a doubleheader on Wednesday, June 1.
The results were a two-game sweep for the visiting Vemillionites 4-1 and 5-2.
In game one, Kyle Mollet threw a one-hitter, registering six Ks, and walking three. His teammates were charged with three errors in the five-inning game.
Scoring for Post #1: Jordan Anderson � 2 runs on 1 for 1 batting; Eric Chase � 1 run; Jeff Donnelly � 1 for 2, 1 run, 1 RBI; Zach Wiess 1 RBI (safe on an error).
Game two was a five-inning contest which Vermillion�s Jason Donald won while pitching a two-hitter, recording 12 Ks and walking four, giving up two unearned runs in the process.
