Woman injured in Friday wreck By M. Jill Karolevitz A single-vehicle accident injured a female driver Friday, May 27, two miles north of the Newcastle-Vermillion Bridge.

State Trooper Brent Mohrmann responded to the accident, along with Troopers Joel Peterson and Tyler Boltjes, and Vermillion Police Officer Jason Bachman.

�The driver was alone in the vehicle,� Mohrmann said. �She was southbound on Highway 19 and went off the road to the west side shoulder. She then came back across the road, spun into the east side ditch and rolled over.�

The victim, whose name and address were not released, was transported by ambulance to Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital, then air lifted to Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. Her condition was unknown at press time.

�She was wearing a seatbelt,� Mohrmann said, but he added that other factors that contributed to the accident are unknown until further investigation is complete.
