Blood drive planned July 15 Community Blood Banks bloodmobile will be holding a blood drive at the National Guard Armory/Park & Recreation Center on Friday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to donate blood, save a life and support the local blood supply.
During the summer months the blood supply for the local communities are challenged due to an increase usage of blood and lower than normal donations. The only way to insure an adequate blood supply is through volunteer donors to donate with Community Blood Bank. One donation will save up to three peoples lives. It only takes 20 to 25 minutes to make the difference.
Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood and blood products to Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital as well as other South Dakota hospitals including Viborg, Freeman, Avera McKennan, Sioux Valley, VA Medical Center, and Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota. The blood that is donated with Community Blood Bank stays within the local area for local patients. Please support your local blood supply.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, weight 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. with you. For more information or to make an appointment please call 677-6787. Walk-ins are welcome.
