District tourney brackets set This year�s District 7B amateur baseball tournament will be played in Vermillion at Prentis Park starting on Saturday, July 30.
District 7B has a different look to it this year, as last year�s defending district winner, and state B champions, the Vermillion Red Sox, are now in Class A.
Five teams will be fighting for three spots in the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament, which will be played in Mitchell.
The seeding for the tournament is (in order): Larchwood, Akron, Vermillion Grey Sox, Newcastle, and Beresford.
The tournament opens on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Newcastle taking on Beresford. The second game will have Akron facing off against the Grey Sox.
Sunday's games will begin at 2 p.m., with Larchwood taking on the Beresford-Newcastle winner. The second game will have the loser of the first Sunday game taking on the loser of the second Saturday game.
The tournament will resume on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., with the championship game being played on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
