Donna McKelvey named June Employee of the Month Donna McKelvey, a custodial worker for Facilities Management at The University of South Dakota, is the Career Service Employee of the Month for June.
President James W. Abbott presented the award to McKelvey June 13.
Many individuals nominated McKelvey for the award.
"Donna McKelvey is a wonderful addition to our building and staff," said Pam Jurgensen, a secretary in the psychology department and one of the nominators.�
"It's nice people appreciate you," McKelvey said. "It's great to feel needed."
"Donna performs her job with a high level of commitment and conscientiousness," said Jerry Jacobs, director of the clinical psychology program at USD and another of the many people who nominated McKelvey.�
Many of McKelvey�s co-workers noted her warmly welcoming nature as she is very professional and interacts well with staff, faculty and students. According to her co-workers, McKelvey is also extraordinarily attentive in keeping rooms neat and polished.���
McKelvey resides in Jefferson with her husband Bill, who is chief of police there. They have two adult children. She has worked at USD since May 7, 2002.
