Obituaries Margaret H. Erickson
Margaret H. Erickson, 92, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg.
Margaret was born Nov. 20, 1912 to George and Ellen (Pearson) Biesman of rural Irene. She attended Whittier Country School. She was employed at Midway Store until she was married.
On June 28, 1939, she married Elmer Erickson at the Midway Lutheran Parsonage. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on this date. The couple lived on a farm in rural Menno for 62 years. They then moved to the Carriage House Apartments in Yankton. They had moved to the Pioneer Villa in Viborg in December.
She held numerous offices as a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and as a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed participating in plays in her younger years, embroidery work, reading, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Elmer; two daughters Carol (Bob) Hansen of Irene, and Linda Anderson of Madison, MN; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Della and two brothers, Floyd and Olin.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, rural Irene. Burial followed in the North Bethlehem Cemetery.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 27, with a prayer service at 7 pm at the Hansen Funeral Home in Irene.
Cecil Allen Kephart
C.A. Kephart passed away on June 16, 2005 at Bakersfield Heart Hospital, Bakersfield, CA.
He graduated from Vermillion High School and later served in the United States Coast Guard. He also graduated from an art college in Los Angeles. He was presently living in Tehachapi, CA.
C.A. was preceded in death by his father, Kermit, his mother, Mary, of Vermillion, and two brothers, Harold of Vermillion, and Lee of Sacramento, CA.
Grateful for having shared his life are special family friend, George Woodcraft; a brother, Bill, and sister-in-law, Sharon Kephart of Tucson, AZ; a half sister, Gwen Stewart of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Helen Kephart of Vermillion; a brother, Les and sister-in-law, Anita Kephart of Vermillion; his aunt, Maxine Seeman of Scottsdale, AZ; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
