Post #1 baseball team dumps Tea 15-2 by Jim Prosser Vermillion�s Post #1 baseball team traveled north Tuesday, July 5, for a scheduled nine inning contest against Tea Area, played at the Tea ball field.

Jason Donald was the starter and went seven innings, surrendering one run on five hits while recording 11 Ks.

He was relieved by Eric Chase, who pitched a two hit, one run, one inning mop-up stint. He gave up a solo homerun to finish the 10 run rule end of the game.

The team�s defense was unusually adept, going the entire contest without committing an error.

The offense was awesome, scoring 15 runs on 14 hits, taking advantage of three Tea errors as well. Leading the onslaught was: BJ Campbell � 3 for 3, 1 run, 3 RBIs; Kyle Mollet outdid him with a 3 for 4, 5 run, 1 RBI performance. Reid Meierkort � 2 for 5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; and Ben Oberle � 2 for 6, 2 runs, 2 RBIs chimed in to the slugfest.

Eric Chase was 1 for 4 with a run and rbi contribution. Ryan Gilbertson went 1 for 4, 1 run, 1 RBI; and Zach Weiss scored 1 and drove in 1 with 1 for 3 at bats.

The team�s season record is 18 wins �10 losses, going into July 8 and 9 games at Alcester and Dakota Valley.
