Kyle Mollet started and went five innings, giving up three runs (two unearned) on three hits, recording six Ks. B.J. Campbell relieved and continued to demonstrate the unusual dominance as he was charged with three runs (one unearned) on two hits, and four Ks.
Vermillion committed two errors but the offense aided the cause with a 17-hit outburst.
The offense was effective early on, building an 8-3 lead after three innings, then simply holding on with three runs to keep Lennox at bay.
Ben Oberle went 3 for 4 with 3 runs, 1 rbi; Reid Meierkort was 1 for 5 with a run; Mollet showed his versatility by going 5 for 5 at bats, scoring 1 and driving in 3. Eric Chase was 2 for 5 with a run; Chris Chase � 1 for 3, 1 rbi; Zach Weiss � 2 for 3, 2 runs; and Jeff Donnelley � 1 for 4, 1 run, 1 rbi.
The team�s regular season record was 21 wins, 11 losses, as they entered the region tourney in Tea on July 16-20.
