Sahr elected to regional leadership post Bob Sahr has been elected to the leadership of the Mid-American Regulatory Conference (MARC), a fifteen-state association of public utilities commissioners.
�Regional cooperation is critical to solving the challenges facing our telecommunications and energy sectors,� said Sahr.� �I feel very honored that my fellow commissioners picked me for a leadership role in such an important organization.�
Sahr, vice chairman for the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, joins the leadership rotation for MARC.� He will serve as secretary in 2005-06 and will become president in 2008-09.�
During Sahr�s presidency, South Dakota will host the annual MARC meeting.� �We�ll have a great opportunity in 2009 to showcase our state and focus on important consumer issues like cutting-edge telecommunications technologies and renewable energy,� said Sahr.
MARC includes fifteen states stretching from Texas to Michigan to North Dakota, and the association counts 57 commissioners as members.
