SIA plans weekend activities The Northern Great Plains Chapter of Singles in Agriculture will host a weekend of activities in Yankton July 8-10.
Singles in Agriculture (SIA) is a national organization that promotes social, educational and recreational activities for persons who are single and involved in farming or ranching activities or work with an agribusiness or organization.
The group will begin to gather at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 8 at the Broadway Inn. The group will carpool at 6:30 p.m. to a catered supper and barn dance at Gary�s farm near Volin.
Saturday�s activities will begin at 8 a.m. with the group carpooling to a tour of the Gavin�s Point Dam power plant, and a rafting excursion with the Missouri River Rafting Company. Following lunch at Toby�s in Meckling the group will tour the Dakota Territorial Museum. The group will also be joining the Yankton Area Singles at their monthly dance at the VFW. The weekend of events in Yankton will conclude on Sunday, July 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast at Yesterday�s Caf�.
Area singles are welcomed to attend any or all of the scheduled event activities. Weekend participants will be charged a $5 activity fee, which does not include meals, tours dances or motel expenses. SIA is a non-profit organization that has been bringing people together since 1986. The NGP chapter, which comprises membership from South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota sponsor�s local activities, a bi-monthly newsletter and a place for adults of all ages a chance to meet people with a common interest in agriculture.
