Solbach is flying high Jessica Solbachs fourth grade dream has become a reality. At age 9, she decided she wanted to be a pilot. She started turning her dreams into reality at the Vermillion Airport where she took flying lessons in high school. At college, she earned a degree in aviation at Mankato, MN.
For the last 2 1/2 years, Solbach has lived in Houston, TX, working as a flight instructor and patrolling oil pipelines. Her dream led her to another challenge flying passengers and flying a larger plane (a Cessna 402). She completed flight training with Cape Air on the east coast.
After an intensive eight week training course for new hires, she earned her silver wings and is now known as Captain Jessica Solbach.
So, if youre in the Boston area and need to take a commuter flight to the islands you may be able to see Solbach in action. She is the daughter of Tony and Marlys Solbach of Vermillion and a 1997 VHS graduate. Have a nice flight.
