USD to host golf outing at Brandon In an effort to raise money for scholarships, University of South Dakota Athletics Department will sponsor a three-person golf scramble on Monday, July 11, at the Municipal Golf Course in Brandon. Registration will held be at noon at the clubhouse.
The golf scramble in Brandon will be the eighth of 11 fund-raising golf events that will be hosted by USD throughout the region this spring and summer. These fund raisers will help support athletic scholarships which are needed to recruit, retain and educate outstanding student-athletes at USD.
Several USD coaches will participate in the Brandon golf outing, including head mens basketball coach Dave Boots, head womens basketball coach Chad Lavin, head football coach Ed Meierkort and athletic director Joel Nielsen.
Weve had a great athletics season and we hope people from the area can come out and say hello to our coaches and visit with us about Coyote Athletics. The success of our students-athletes in both academics and athletics at USD has been extraordinary. We are very proud of their efforts, Nielsen said.
The cost of the scramble is $60 per person and covers 18 holes of golf with a cart and a meal (meal-only $15).
