USD will host teachers' institute The University of South Dakota History Department, in collaboration with the South Dakota Humanities Council, will conduct their annual summer teachers� institute July 18-22 in Vermillion.
This weeklong institute, focusing on �The Peoples of ?The Seven Council Fires�� is intended for 7-12th grade history teachers from across the region. There is a $100 registration fee to attend. In turn, participants will receive three graduate credits.
Meals and lodging in an air-conditioned dorm are also provided to participants. Registration will be accepted until 8 a.m. on July 18. Those wishing to stay in the dorm should register by July 13 to ensure a room.
