Golfers capture championship at Dakota Valley Invitational By Jim Prosser Dakota Valley High School hosted an invitational meet involving 10 varsity five-member golf teams in an 18-hole competition at the Two Rivers Course in North Sioux City on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
Vermillion ran away from the competition with a first place score of 311. The other placers were: second � Canton (322); third � West Central (325); fourth � Dakota Valley (328); fifth � BonHomme (331); sixth � Harrisburg (335); seventh � Beresford (336); eighth � Dell Rapids (356); ninth � Elk Point/Jefferson (359); tenth � Tri Valley (428).
Medalist was Nolan Meyer of Harrisburg with a 71. The other top five individuals were: Broc Gauer (V) � 73; Casey DeBuhr (EP-J) � 74; Alex Schaack (V) � 74; and Andy Glenn (C) � 76.
Placing 16th through 18th were Vermillion�s Mikal Ustad, Jordan Boots, and Aaron Steele, each with an 82.
