Sioux Trails Girl Scouts looking for leaders Remember being a Girl Scout when you were younger? Remember the uniforms, the badges, the cookies and the memories? Now, its your turn to make an impact on girls lives as making memories starts with Girl Scouts.
Sioux Trails Girl Scout Council is currently seeking troop leaders for the Vermillion area school district to serve those who are currently without leadership.
Troop leaders are comprised of adult volunteers who wish to share their insight and sense of adventure with todays girls. The Girl Scouting is a movement that gives girls from all segments of American life a chance to develop their potential, to make friends and to become a vital part of their community.
Based on ethical values, Girl Scouting opens up a world of opportunity for all girls, working in partnership with adult volunteers. Girl Scouts sole focus is to meet the special needs and interests of every girl everywhere.
Parents are always welcome to become a leader or assist with a troop and their activities. Community members are invited to share their special skills including singing, music, sports, nature, woodworking, creative writing, dramatics, cooking, arts, dance or possibly sharing a life experience from a trip, adventure or hobby.
Sioux Trails Girl Scout Council is chartered by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and administers and develops the Girl Scout Program within a 10-county jurisdiction.
South Dakota counties served by Sioux Trails include Clay and Union with Sioux, OBrien, Cherokee, Plymouth, Ida, Monona, Woodbury with Clay and Union counties in Iowa and Dakota county in Nebraska.
Every year, Girl Scouts across the country sell Girl Scout Cookies as a fun way to support their projects and activities. Other activities Girl Scouts enjoy are making crafts, community service projects, traveling, earning badges, outdoor camping, making new friends and learning about others and self.
Leaders are needed to serve all levels including Daisy, Brownie and Junior age levels in Vermillion.
