The PSAT/NMSQT measures verbal reasoning, critical reading, math problem-solving and writing skills you have developed over many years, both in and out of school. The PSAT/NMSQT gives students the opportunity to practice for the SAT I Reasoning Test, enter scholarship competitons, seek information from colleges, and get feedback about critical academic skills. The PSAT/NMSQT requires two hours and 45 minutes for the administration and the testing of the five sections.
Before taking the test, students will receive a student bulletin containing a complete test with an answer key and scoring instructions. In December, students will receive a report of answers and their test booklets to help them interpret their test results and to plan for college.
