Carl Grupp Retrospective Exhibition: The Wonder of Life � Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8 a.m. and Sunday, Sept. 18, at 8 a.m. An exhibition of 60 paintings, prints, drawings, and sculpture created between 1969 and 2004 by noted South Dakota artist, Carl Grupp. The show celebrates a body of work that is memorable for its consistent technical excellence, its humanity and humor, and its subtly changing views of life. ? Downtown After Dark Event � Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 5 to 9 p.m., Main Street Vermillion. Please join us for a community-wide relief effort to support victims of Hurricane Katrina, an opportunity to help those in need, and an evening of entertainment: food, shopping, fellowship and fun. Enjoy the evening listening to jazz music and other musical entertainment. Feel free to bring your own lawn chairs. Be entertained by magicians, clowns, jugglers, face painters, dancers, Mardi Gras beads, masks and other items. Enjoy famous Hurricane Drinks from Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans and indulge in some great Cajun food including gumbo, jambalaya, Po' Boys, catfish and hushpuppies, dirty rice, blackened red fish, and jerk chicken! Merchants will be open until 9 p.m., so stop in and check out their unique specials and drawings! A Red Cross booth will be accepting donations. This event is brought to you by the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce & Development Company, USD College of Fine Arts, and area merchants. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Please join us!
