"We are very excited to receive funds from the Vermillion Area Community Foundation," said Kevin Jacobson, chair of the Downtown Streetscape Committee. "On behalf of the streetscape committee, I'd like to thank Mr. Kozak and the Vermillion Area Community Foundation for this very generous gift. The grant represents a significant VACF investment in the future of downtown revitalization efforts. We know that there are many great organizations and projects out there in need of funding, but we are very grateful that our project was selected.
"We plan to use this money toward the purchase of park benches like the ones that have been recently installed in the downtown area," he said. "We have made some significant progress toward our goals for the streetscape project, and we still have many plans that we're continuing to work on that we hope will be implemented over the next several years. We appreciate all of the support that has been shown and we continue to welcome donations to our efforts, which can be sent to the city of Vermillion."
