The award was presented to him at the South Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) 71st annual convention in Brookings. The award, given each year,recognizes water utility personnel for completing meritorious and faithful service in providing and maintaining a safe, dependable and adequate public water supply.��
Hasenbank retired in August after 43 years of service in the Vermillion Water Department. The last 20 years of his career he served as the water superintendent. He was commended for his ability to keep the plant running without an interruption of service longer than a day during his tenure of service to the city.
