Rawlins Piano Trio will perform Sept. 29
The University of South Dakota will showcase the Rawlins Piano Trio at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, in Old Main's Farber Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Rawlins Trio consists of three music faculty members from USD: Susan Keith Gray, an in demand pianist, teacher and clinician; John Thomson, who holds a master's and doctoral degree in violin performance and Nick Curry, who joined the Rawlins Trio and The University of South Dakota faculty in the fall of 2004 where he teaches studio cello and music appreciation.

The trio's most recent CD, American Romance, was released by Albany Records in 2004 and was declared, "A real find!" by reviewer J. Scott Morrison.

The Rawlins Trio has formed a reputation as a preeminent interpreter of American music. Founded in 1987, the Rawlins Piano Trio performs throughout the Midwestern United States and in select national and international venues. These performances have included prestigious concert series, television and radio broadcasts, appearances at conferences and educational outreach to young audiences.

Owing to its expertise, the trio has recorded a total of three CDs of these works and has been invited frequently to perform at the national conventions of the Society for American Music.
