Tanager cross country teams compete in Madison invite By Jim Prosser Ten schools were represented at the John Collingon Invitational Cross Country meet at the Madison Country Club golf course, Friday, Aug. 28 with competition in both boys' and girls' divisions.
Class AA teams � SF Lincoln, Huron, and Mitchell dominated the top of the meet and no team points were kept, but of the nearly 70 individual boy runners, the Tanager placer in the top 20 was Andrew Manning at 12th. Placing at #34 was J.R. Moore. Other VHS participants were: Brody Stone, D.J. Donahue, C.J. Harden, Justus Mayer, Jeff Donnelly, Raleigh Tiahrt and Dan Day.
For the girls, Kayla Jelen from SF Lincoln was first among the 57 runners, and Tanager placers were: Emily Renner � 10th, Katarina Gombosz � 21st, Annie Roche � 30th, Hannah Nehlich-Ari � 31, then Sophie Nehlich-Ari. Other finishers were: Sarah Day, Chelsea Gauer, and Amanda Zalud.
Three middle school runners participated in the JV division � Jana Bye, Steffani Donahue, and Julie Renner.
The schools competing were Garretson, Howard, Hurley, Huron, Madison, Mitchell, SF Lincoln, Sioux Valley, Vermillion, and West Central.
