In the second quarter, Freidel intercepted a pass and returned it 43 yards for a TD. Luke Heine scored on a short run and a 30-14 halftme lead. The second half was dominated by the Tanagers as Reid Meirkort and Ryan Gilbertson each scored on one yard runs, while the Cardinals could respond with only six points and the final 44-20 home town victory.
The defense was mostly effective and nearly every member contributed with tackles. Zach Weiss led with seven Ts; Ryan Husby � five Ts; Andrew Pearson and Matt Nelson each had four (Pearson also had a QB sack); several defensemen were credited with three (Nick Schaffer � 3Ts (two solos), one tackle for loss, QB sack, one pass hurry; Nick Rasmussen � three (one solo), QB sack, pass hurry. Jackson and Freidel each intercepted a pass and each had a QB sack.
