Tanagers win Region 2A golf tourney

West Central was second (336) and Dakota Valley � third (338). Medalist was Dakota Valley's Nate Barbee who scored an amazing 7 under par 65 on the tough 72 par Bluffs course.

Meyer Nolan (Harrisburg) was second with a 71. Alex Schaack � V (76) and Broc Gauer � V (78) placed third and fourth; Chris Smith (West Central) � fifth, Jordan Boots (V) sixth (80), followed by three golfers tied with 81s, including Aaron Steele (V) to complete the top 10.

Mikal Ustad tied for 14th among the 50 golfers competing. Any team qualifying four golfers in the region will be eligible to vie for the championship at the state tournament to be held in Hartford on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4.
