With 18 minutes left in the match, junior Carla Neppl (Omaha, NE), who scored her first goal of the season in the win over 10th-ranked Truman State yesterday, put the ball past Upper Iowa's Sarah Hiatt at the 72:03 mark, unassisted, to put the match out of reach.
As a team, USD outshot the Peacocks, 34-14, in the first meeting between the two schools. The Coyotes placed 15 of their shots on goal.
Sophomore Keyton Wheelock (Traverse City, MI) played all 90 minutes in goal for USD and pitched her third shutout of the season by making five saves.
For UIU, Hiatt made 13 saves, while allowing both goals.
