Senior Kristen Miller (Papillion, NE) led South Dakota with a career-high 29 kills and had a .303 hitting percentage (29k-6e-76ta).
Miller, who was one of three Coyotes to finish with double digit kills, added 14 digs to complete the double-double.
Also for South Dakota, junior Kinsley Powers (Rapid City) added a double-double with 20 kills and 15 digs, while senior Angela Prochaska (Waterbury, NE) had 11 kills and a match-high four aces.
USD freshman Gabi Jarchow (Lincoln, NE) had a career-high 28 digs, while junior setter Casey Beardsley (Sterling, CO) also set a career-high with 68 assists, which was three more than Northern State's total for assists.
As a team, USD hit .239 (77k-26e-213ta), compared to .234 (75k-25e-205ta) for the Wolves.
The Coyotes also benefited from seven blocks and 40 total Northern State errors.
The Wolves were led by Angie Aadahl who had 24 kills and 21 digs. Kellie Heier had a triple-double for NSU with 53 assists, 10 kills and 18 digs.
Luciola Figueroa led Northern State in digs with 23.
USD returns to action this weekend, Sept. 9-10, at the Super 8/North Central Region Crossover hosted by Northern State in Aberdeen. South Dakota will face NSIC foes Minnesota-Crookston, Bemidji State and fourth-ranked Concordia-St. Paul.
