USD women golfers finish 4th

USD, who was paced by a tie for fourth-place 79 by junior Karrie Plate of Vermillion, finished just one stroke behind Winona State and six strokes behind the hosts and winners, Southwest Minnesota State.

Also scoring for USD were sophomore Kristi Tighe (Homer, NE), who shot a 81, while junior Krissy Woita (Lincoln, NE) fired an 83. Tighe tied for 11th, while Woita tied for 21st.

Amanda Young (Mitchell) carded an 87, while Amber Luitjens (Aberdeen) recorded a 91.

Upper Iowa's Rachael Schmidt took medalist honors with a 77.
