VCDC hires new program coordinator The Vermillion Chamber of Commerce & Development Company is pleased to announce that Mike Lauritsen has been hired as program coordinator.
Lauritsen began his duties with the VCDC on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
He is originally from Mitchell. Lauritsen graduated from Black Hills State University, where he majored in business administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurial studies. While in school, he served as vice president of Students in Free Enterprise. (SIFE)
He most recently worked with the South Dakota Republican Party in Pierre, where he assisted with fund raising events, scheduled volunteers, and did bookkeeping and financial reporting. Prior to that, Laurtisen served as an intern in the House of Representatives with the state Legislature in Pierre.
His other experience includes banking industry, customer relations, and business consulting.
Lauritsen and his wife, Jenny, recently married and moved to Vermillion. Mrs. Lauritsen is also a graduate of BHSU, and is currently enrolled in the dental hygiene program at The University of South Dakota.
