VHS JV football squad drops opener at Canton

Reid Meierkort tossed two touchdown passes to complete all the scoring for the Tanagers. His first pass was a 40-yard completion with Bobby Dykstra on the receiving end. Jackson Freidel caught Meierkort's second TD pass. This completion covered 60 yards.

The Tanagers successfully made a 2-point conversion to complete the scoring for the day. Christ Taylor led the Tanagers on the defensive side with eight total stops.

"It was a good learning experience for our young players," said coach Heirigs. "I know we'll continue to see improvement in all areas as we progress through the season."
