The opening kick off gave an ominous beginning to the game. After the opening kick off was returned for a touchdown, the Eagles looked up to see the score 8-0 with 10 seconds off the clock. Chester went on to reel off 22 more points to take a 28-0 lead.
The Eagle offense sparked occasionally, but Chester never let Irene/Wakonda get too far.
In the second quarter, Josh Nielson moved the ball down the field on a series of short passes. The drive culminated in a 15-yard strike to Mitch Hessman in the end zone for the Eagles' only points. Chester immediately answered with a 40-yard hook and lateral play to maintain a 28-point halftime lead.
Chester once again went to work in the third quarter. The Eagles could only slow the Flyers not stop them. The game was ended in the third quarter when the Flyers went over the 45-point mercy rule.
Statistically, Chester gained 343 offensive yards compared to the Eagles' 71 yards.
Defensively, Adam Polley had 9.5 tackles and Shaun Hessman added 6.5. Brock Mutchelknaus had six tackles and an interception.
