Veteran Sioux City multi-instrumentalist Dave Napier will star in the concert with Gayville Hall musical hosts John and Susan McNeill of Springfield.
Napier plays soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. He grew up in Virginia and first came to the midwest while in the Air Force. He played with Danny and the Velaires in Sioux City after leaving the Air Force, then spent 14 years performing in Chicago. Since returning to Sioux City, he has played in his own jazz quartet and in the Dixie Daddys, among other groups.
John McNeill was born in Oklahoma, grew up in Indiana and Connecticut, and first came to South Dakota to attend college. He teaches at the Springfield state prison and has written music for documentaries and hundreds of songs. Susan McNeill, a native of Clark, plays bass and sings.
