How to help military families in need
The Sioux Empire American Red Cross needs your help. The chapter is seeking 10+ men or women who could volunteer from their home in handling emergency messages from family dependents needing to contact their military family member. Training will be held Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. to explain how you can help service members and their families with emergency communications.

In the last three years the Sioux Empire American Red Cross has taken almost 1000 military emergency communication calls, that's averaging one call per day that a family member needed help relaying their emergency message to their service member.

For more information or to register for training please call Charity Small at 605-336-2448. Training will be held at the Sioux Empire American Red Cross office at 808 West Ave. N, Sioux Falls, SD 57104. Volunteers should reside in the chapter's jurisdiction of Clay, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Moody and Turner counties in South Dakota.
