Flemming has worked for Hy-Vee for 20 years, while Amundson has been with the store for 15 years.
Hy-Vee's Service Awards program, now in its 41st year, recognizes employees for continuous service to the company. At a series of seven banquets to be held throughout Hy-Vee's seven-state area this month, the company will pay tribute to employees reaching service milestones ranging from five to 40 years. More than 200 of those honored this year are celebrating anniversaries of 25 years or more with the company.
Employees celebrating service anniversaries receive customized gifts that increase in value as the years of service increase. In addition, their photos are published in a special souvenir book distributed to all 49,000 Hy-Vee associates.
Recipients also receive personal congratulations from Hy-Vee Chairman Ron Pearson and CEO Ric Jurgens, who pose for a commemorative photo with each Service Award recipient.
Jurgens noted that this year's Service Award celebrations coincide with the observance of Hy-Vee's 75th anniversary.
"We never could have reached this milestone as an organization if not for the dedication of our employees," Jurgens said. "As owners of the company, they give selflessly of their time, energy and talents to make Hy-Vee a better place to shop and a better place to work. We're proud to be able to acknowledge them publicly for their efforts."
