JV football team wins 24-6 vs. Lennox

Luke Heine opened the scoring with a 42-yard scamper on the second offensive play by the home team. The second score was accomplished by a Reid Meierkort pass to Bobby Dykstra, for 23 yards. In the third period, Jerrod Freidel rushed for a 10-yard TD. The final play of the game was a recovered fumble, in the Lennox endzone, by defensive end Andrew Pearson.

The Vermillion offense accumulated the running yards by Luke Heine (98 yards/14 carries), and Jerrod Friedel (93 yards/15 carries). Meierkort was 4 for 7 in passing for 112 total yards. Dykstra caught two passes totaling 44 yards, and Jerrod Freidel had 73 total yards on two receptions.

The defense was kept real busy, and there were some good stops by: Tom Mollet (9 tackles); Heine � 6 Ts; Ryan Husby � 5; and Zach Weiss � 4. Nick Rasmussen had a QB sack to go along with four tackles and Pearson had that recovered fumble.
