In his role of dean of Arts and Sciences at The University of South Dakota, Dr. Matthew Moen is an advocate for the liberal arts as a core emphasis on the university's educational mission. He taught at the University of Maine for 16 years, where he earned several distinctions including trustee professor, honorary member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and distinguished professor nominee.
He has published several books and articles, and in Maine served his community as a political analyst for local media. He has granted interviews on American politics to ABC News, Nightline, NBC News, New York Times, and Washington Post, and other national media.
As an Augie student he lettered in track and belonged to the Honor Society Pi Sigma Alpha. He and his wife, Donna, and their daughter, Erika, live in Vermillion.
