Panel will discuss flu

The School of Business at USD will sponsor an international forum titled "Are We Ready for the Killer Flu?" on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at noon in the Lincoln/Roosevelt Rooms of the Coyote Student Center. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Benno Wymar, professor emeritus of economics at USD. The forum is free and open to the public.

Topics to be discussed include: what are the risks that the avian flu will reach the U.S.? What can be done to avoid it?

Panelists include Dr. Asad Asari who worked with the Centers for Disease Control and is currently an infectious disease specialist at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls and Dr. Sarah Patrick formerly with the state health department in Pierre and current professor of epidemiology at The USD School of Medicine.
