Betsy Bies placed first for the Gazelles, and Katarina Gombocz placed seventh for the Tanagers. Other varsity participants were: Emily Renner (11); Annie Roche (12); Sarah Day (14), Hannah Nehlich-Arobba (15); Sophie Nehlich-Arobba (16) and Chelsea Gauer (20).
There was also a middle school division and the Vermillion runners were: Stephanie Donahoe and Julie Renner, both eighth graders.
The boys varsity was a 5K run with four teams competing � Norfolk, Papillion, Vermillion, and Yankton. Yankton won it all but the #1 runner was Norfolk's Sufian Kimo with a 15:34.0 time. Vermillion participants were: Andrew Manning (20); Casey Carlson (21); JR Moore and Ryan Powell (tied at 27). Also finishing the race: CJ Harden, DJ Donahoe, Jeff Donnelly, Brody Stone, and Raleigh Tiahrt.
The ninth/tenth 4K run had Vermillion boys in the race: Marley Hammond (12); Tony Hubert (13); Isaac Druin (14); Sam Robinson (15); Michael Dendinger (16) and Skylar Tiahrt (17). Also, in the middle school division, Kevin Callahan finished 18th as Vermillion's only entrant.
