Senior Kristen Miller (Papillion, NE) recorded a double double with a match-high 19 kills and 15 digs, while junior Kinsley Powers (Rapid City) added 13 kills for USD. Senior Angela Prochaska (Waterbury, NE) reached double figures in kills for the fifth time this season as she contributed 12 to the Coyote's cause.
USD hit over .200 as a team for the first time since Sept. 9 (.212, Bemidji State) by recording a .273 hitting percentage with 70 kills and 22 errors in 176 attempts. It was also the first time the Coyotes attained 70 kills in a match, since going for 77 against Northern State on Sept. 6.
South Dakota setter Casey Beardsley (Sterling, CO) recorded her seventh double double of the season, as she notched 50 assists and 18 digs. Freshman Amber Kobus (Columbus, NE) led USD in digs with 23.
For MSU, Mandy Reuter led the team with 18 kills and 12 digs, while Ashley Nachreiner had 15 kills and 11 digs. Setter Stef Sandstrom totaled 58 assists and 15 digs, while Cassie Wolpern had a match-high 25 digs.
The Coyotes will look to run its winning streak to four matches, when they host in-state rival Augustana in the DakotaDome on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
