VHS show choir kicks off season

Vermillion High School Show Choir kicked off its season with the fourth annual Marathon Day on Monday, Oct. 10. The students gave up their vacation day to rehearse for nine hours straight on their competition show for this 2006 season.

The group will be attending the Okoboji Pioneer Choir Invitational, Sioux City East High School's Sing All About It Invitational, USD's Coyote Jazz Festival, Mitchell's Show Choir Classic and Sioux Falls Washington's Best of Show Competition. They will have many local performances as well including Evening of the Stars in February, Music in our School's Month Concert in March and VHS Jazz Night in April.

This year's group is made up of 46 singers and dancers and eight show band members. The group's choreographers are Teri Bellis, Trisha Fisher and Kristin Iverson. The group is directed by Kristin Iverson and John Alpers.
